We were surprised to see no drugs detected and yet a strong red reaction with the Mandelin reagent.

GC/MS does not detect things like sugars, fillers, simple salts, etc. So we're interested if anyone else has ideas what kinds of crystals would react this way with Mandelin reagent.

The lab ran a series of tests against simple inorganic chemicals and found that simple Sodium Chloride (table salt) and Potassium Chloride both cause field reagent results consistent with this sample.
